Lynn A. Wimmer age 57, 721 West Walnut Street Portland passed away Wednesday morning at his residence following an extended illness.  He was born in Portland February 11, 1953 the son of Charles and Patricia (Hofer) Wimmer.  He was married in May 2010 to Pennee Cay Carpenter who survives.  He had been a construction supervisor and truck driver.  He was a 1972 Portland High School graduate and Ivy Tech graduate.

Surviving are his wife Pennee, his mother Mrs. Wayman (Patricia) Haffner of Palm Bay, Fl., one son Eric Wimmer of Portland, one step-son Chad Caupp of Portland, one step-daughter Mrs. Aaron (Kristina) Kuhn of Portland, one brother Charles Wimmer of Bryant, two sisters Patricia Romine of Portland and Barbara Gagnon of Palm Bay, Fl.  Three grandchildren and one step-granddaughter

Nellie P. Grile age 78,  West Arch Portland passed away Thursday evening in Persimmon Ridge Healthcare. She was born in Clinton County , Ohio March 24, 1932 the daughter of Kenneth and Eva ( Dudley ) Hodgson. She was married November 30, 1951 to Raymond L. Grile who survives. She was a homemaker and child care provider. She was also an avid quilt maker.

Surviving are her husband Raymond, Two sons Steven D. Grile of Pennville and Wayne L. Grile of Redkey, Two daughters Mrs. Ed (Sharon) E. Link of Ft. Recovery and Anna M. Grile of Redkey, one brother Kenneth Hodgson of Portland, Three sisters Florence Gooding of Portland, Bertha Bevins of Redkey, and Mary Vore of Albany,  Four grandchildren

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Herb Hummel presiding.  Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery west of Bryant.  Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M.  Memorials can be made to the State of the Heart Hospice

Phillip F. Haley  age 59, 931 West North Street Portland passed away Friday morning in Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie .  He was born in Fort Wayne October 24, 1950 the son of Phillip and Mildred (Friedrich) Haley.  He was a machinist for Textron in Berne . 

Surviving are his longtime companion Donna Robinson, Two sisters Mrs. Dennis (Ruby) Shaneyfelt of Portland and Melodi Haley of Portland, Three nieces, one nephew and several great and great great nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be Saturday at 3:00 P.M. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Strietelmeier presiding. Ronald Davidson age 59, 2584 North 400 West Portland died early Tuesday morning in Bluffton Regional Medical Center .  He was born in Portland October 22, 1950 the son of Richard and Betty (Boe) Davidson. He had worked in the landscaping business and was a avid blues music fan.

Surviving are one brother Larry Davidson of Portland , three sisters Linda Davidson of Columbus , Indiana , Mrs. Jeff (Connie) Fear of Montpelier and Mrs. Dan (Beth) Hunley of Portland, three nieces and five nephews and eight great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 10:00 A.M. Friday in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery west of Bryant.  Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Cancer Society or Key Palace Theatre in Redkey.
