Marilyn Kelly age 68, 811 North Franklin Street Portland passed away early Sunday morning at her residence. She was born in Muncie March 27, 1941 the daughter of Fred and Zida (Smith) Bow. She was married June 22, 1958 to Robert e. Kelly and he died November 7, 2008. She had worked in the Jay County Hospital for thirty eight years.
Surviving are one daughter Mrs. Allen (Lisa) Sloniker of Parker City, two brothers John Bow of Winchester and Paul Bow of Muncie , Two grandchildren Andrew Sloniker and Ashley Sloniker of Parker City . She was preceded in death by a brother Curtis Bow Sr.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Eads presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery . Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M. Memorials can be made to the Muncie Cancer Center.

Marilyn Minch age 67, 1528 West 350 South Portland passed away Wednesday in Reid Hospital in Richmond . She was born in Portland March 21, 1942 the daughter of Gilbert and Anna (Stults) Bubp. She was married July 20, 1959 to Michael J. Minch who survives. She was a certified pharmacy technician for CVS in Portland . She was a member of West Walnut Street Church of Christ where she was very active and was a volunteer for the Pregnancy Care Center in Portland .
Surviving are her husband Mike, one son Jeff Minch (fiancé Sherry Carros) of Wetmore , Michigan and one daughter Mrs. Mark (Julie) Steigerwalt of Portland, Three grandchildren Brittany Marshall, Elizabeth Minch and Chloe Steigerwalt.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday in the West Walnut Street Church of Christ with Pastor Jim Nichols presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery . Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home and Saturday from 9:00 – 10:00 A.M. Memorials can be made to West Walnut Street Church Memorial Fund or Kates Kart.

Herman Spear age 66, 5500 South Edgewood Drive Muncie passed away Wednesday morning at his residence. He was born in Newtown , Indiana November 6, 1942 the son of Rumzie and Agnes ( Clark ) Spear. He was married November 21, 1977 to Ethel Coy who survives. He was retired from G.E. Supply and sold industrial lighting. He had served with the U.S. Navy.
Surviving are his wife Ethel (Coy) Spear, one son Michael Spear of Muncie, special friend Peggy Barker of Muncie, three brothers Vick Spear of Veedersburg, Jim Spear of Covington and Paul Spear of Newtown, Brother in law Steve Lucas of Newtown
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 A.M. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Denney presiding. Burial will follow in the Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester . Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or Delaware County Cancer Society

Florence E. Baldauf age 91, 516 East Race Street Portland died Monday at her residence. She was born in Pennville August 7, 1918 the daughter of Adelma and Maude (Stout) Lewis. She was married in 1939 to Paul M. Baldauf and he died November 14, 2002. She was a homemaker and member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies group. She was also a member of the Jay County Hospital Aux.
Surviving are two sons Tom Baldauf of Portland and Larry Baldauf of Indianapolis , one brother Harley Lewis of Petroleum, Ten grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:00 P.M. in the Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Strietelmeier presiding. Visitation will be Wednesday in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. and Thursday from 12:00 – 1:00 P.M. at the church. Gerald (Jerry) Pucket age 65 P.O.Box 131 Farmland, Indiana passed away Sunday in the Jay County Hospital Emergency Room. He was born in Portland October 24, 1943 the son of Fred and Norma (Whipple) Puckett. He had worked at Lobell Emery in Winchester and at Westinghouse. He had served with the National Guard and was a member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion and was a 1961 Portland High School graduate.
Surviving are his mother Norma Puckett of Farmland and one sister Barbara Ann Jones of Coral Gables , Fl.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 7:00 P.M. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Rittenhouse presiding. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Memorials can be made to the funeral home for the family in care of Jerry or Asbury United Methodist Church.

.Mildred Miller age 91, 11050 Presbyterian Drive , Indianapolis and a former rural Portland resident passed away Friday in Westminster Village North in Indianapolis . She was born in Jay County March 29, 1918 the daughter of Ben and Vonia (Journay) Morehous. She was married April 13, 1939 to Walter Miller and he died February 14, 2003. She was a farmers wife and retired from the First National
Bank in Portland . She was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church where she was the pianist since the age of thirteen and member of Xi Iota Xi Sorority, United Methodist Women and Ladies Aid.
Surviving are one son Jim Miller (wife Linda) of Lake Village, Indiana, two daughters Mrs. R.D. (Gloria) Helm of Fish Haven, Idaho and Mrs. Tim (C.J.) Wills of Indianapolis, one sister Mrs. Robert (Lorna) Snyder of Portland, Ten grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren She was preceded in death by two brothers Walter and James Morehous.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:00 P.M. in the Fairview United Methodist Church . Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery . The family requests flowers to be omitted and as a tribute to Mildred memorials be made to Fairview United Methodist Church or perform an act of kindness.
